Book Cover comps

Here are a few book covers that I had to come up with for my vis comm class. I chose a wolf as a metaphor for slavery, which is a recurrent theme in the book, because Thomas Jefferson once said that slavery was like hold a wolf by the ears, the longer you hold on the more angry it will get, but if you let go the wolf will just eat you. For the other books, I wanted to draw from several different types of book covers I've seen at the stores.

Illustrations

These are my illustrations I've done in the past. Enjoy

This is an example of a letterhead I designed for a mock-up company called Flame Entertainment.

This is an envelope for the same project

And business cards

This was for a project in class where I had to create a magazine cover while manually making a vector image of myself. I was dressed up as a frenchman for Halloween.

Illustration I did of a tiger, I really enjoy the color scheme of white black and red. Had I left it just black and white I think it would have been fine, but plain. The red adds some interest in my opinion.

Photoshop projects

Here are a couple photoshop projects I've worked on, some are better than others in my opinion; but isn't that the case with everything?

This is for my sister; I think we are going in a new direction with it though.
This was for a little side project I was asked to do to help contribute ideas for SPU's new ID cards.
This is almost more of an illustrative project but I used alot of photoshop elements in it as well so I thought I'd include it.

Photographs

These are some photos I've taken recently; I recently got a Nikon D60 which I really like so far. I'm still trying to learn the ins-and-outs of it but photography has been really fun so far.

Golden Gardens
Dog Heaven
This one was in Colorado at Garden of the Gods.
This one was at the Air Force Academy during the time I was there for my brothers graduation. I'm real proud of him, he even got to meet President Bush!
Some stack of wood

I finally gave in

I figured it was time I finally time I made myself a blog (here you go jack, I'm hip now) t0 show some of the stuff I've been working on and have come up with for classes. I'll post up some photos I've taken, some illustrations I've done, and some photoshop work. Feel free to comment and tell me how you like it.
